Welcome to First United Methodist Preschool
At First United Methodist Church Preschool St. Cloud, our number one priority is the child. We pride ourselves in not being a daycare and focus on the education of our children.
Each child is welcomed into an age-appropriate classroom that is created as "their space." Our staff adapts to this environment and engages each child on their level. Once a child feels safe and secure, their ability to learn is enhanced. Each child is loved and accepted as an individual rather than a number.
About Our School
Established in 1983, First United Methodist Preschool is nestled in the heart of historic downtown St. Cloud and has been in operation 36 years. Our safe and secure campus features a state of the art video camera monitoring system. All staff are experienced, certified and have participated in annual Active Shooter, First Aid, Fire Extinguisher, and CPR training.
Each classroom provides learning-based centers that cover all aspects of a child’s developmental needs. Class sizes are limited and all classrooms have a teacher and full-time teaching assistant. Our school is a licensed DCF and VPK Provider.
We take pride in being a traditional preschool and not a daycare facility. Children, ages 3-5, learn and develop in a loving Christian atmosphere. Our classrooms are child-centered, active-learning environments where students develop a variety of skills and concepts through meaningful experiences. Activities that exercise the child’s developmental stages and encompass all styles of learning are provided.
All classes participate in the Frog Street Curriculum and our Pre-K classes cover all the VPK Florida State Standards. Children participate in Chapel weekly and school-wide Group Music & Movement events once a month, in addition to what is provided in class daily. Parent participation is always welcomed! In addition, on-site field trips are included in our curriculum.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT COVID-19
As many of you are aware, in response to the COVID-19 virus, the Osceola County School District has added an additional week to Spring Break. Instead of returning to school on Monday, 3/23 they will now be returning on Monday, 3/30. Since we follow their schedule, we will also be returning on 3/30 instead of 3/23.
Graduation and Spring photos that were scheduled for 3/25 & 3/26 are now scheduled for Wednesday, 4/1 (graduation) and Thursday, 4/2 (Spring). VPK attendance forms will need to be signed on Monday, 3/30. If for some reason your child will be out that day, we still need you to come in and sign the attendance form. VPK allows for 5 emergency days so this time will not have to be made up.
The entire staff will be in the classrooms the week of March 23. They will be thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all toys, manipulatives, centers, shelves, chairs and anything else little hands come in contact with. It is our commitment to all of our families that your child will return to a healthy and safe environment.
We will keep you posted on any changes as they come in. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Stay safe and healthy! God is with you.
